Overnight rains in Sindh, Balochistan anticipated as Nilofar cyclone nears Karachi

14/10/29  KARACHI The Metrological Department on Wednesday forecasted overnight rains at coastal areas of Balochistan and lower areas of Sindh as the Nilofar cyclone is just 800 kilometer ahead of Karachi. The Met department also said that Nilofar is losing its intensity. According to the details, the distance between Pakistan and Nilofar cyclone is reducing after it turned towards Pakistan after Oman. At this point, the cyclone is just 680 kilometer ahead of Gawadar and 800 kilometer from Karachi. According to the Met department, the cyclone will turn to North East in next 12 hours and its speed will enhance.

The series of rainfall that will start night could last until November 1.

The Met department has warned that Pakistan’s coastal areas will be hit by Nilofar on Thursday and Friday and therefore the fishermen should not go into the sea. The department also projected that the cyclone’s intensity will weaken by November 1st and it will next turn to Indian state Gujarat.
