Ashura processions reach destinations throughout Pakistan

14/11/04  LAHORE: – Ashura processions, paying rich tributes to martyrdom of Imam Hussain (r.a) and the Prophet’s (s.a.w) family, have ended in most parts of the country including Karachi, Rawalpindi and Faisalabad. Processions are also about to reach their destinations in Lahore and various other cities. Martyrdom of Imam Hussain (r.a) and Family of the Prophet (s.a.w) is being celebrated with religious fervor throughout the country. Mourning processions along with ‘flag’ and ‘Zuljanah’ icons were led throughout the country. Mourning, Noha reciting and chaining was done in the processions.

In Karachi, central procession began from Nishter Park and reached Imam Bargaah Hussainia Iranian Kharadar after passing through the traditional routes. Zuhrain prayer was offered outside Tibet Center. Central procession in Lahore started from Mochi Gate Nisar Haveli, offered Zuhrain prayer in Rung Mehel Chowk and after mourning in tribute to the martyrs of Karbala, the procession reached Karbala Gamay Shah. In Rawalpindi, central procession started from Imam Bargaah Colonel Maqbool and ended at Qadeemi Imam Bargaah. In Peshawar, 11 small processions took their traditional paths. In Quetta, procession started from Imam Bargaah Hussaini and ended at Alamdar Road, Punjabi Imam Bargaah. In Multan, master’s procession started from Imam Bargaah Shah Rasaal while pupil’s Taziyah ended at Imam Bargaah Muhalla Jhak.

In Gujranwala, central procession started from Imam Bargaah Haideri Road and after passing through Haideri Road, GT Road and Gondlanwala Chowk, it ended at Ghanta Ghar. Central procession started from Imam Bargaah Haideriya in Faisalabad and ended at its destination.
